Danielle graduated from Massey University in 2017. She worked across the ditch in Geelong for 3 years, and after being scared off by the snakes and heatwaves, decided to come back to NZ. She worked in sunny Taupo for another year before settling down in West Auckland where she grew up.
Danielle has a strong passion for building genuine, honest relationships with clients while providing compassionate care towards her animal-patients. She particularly enjoys surgeries and hopes to delve further into orthopedics one day.
Danielle lives with her elderly cat, Mitzi, who was adopted from the clinic last year. In her free time she loves playing music, going hiking, and growing in her faith. Fun fact - she plays 5 instruments including the bassoon!
Sue loves animals and always wanted to be a Vet. She graduated in 1980 and has worked in rural and urban practices.
Sue is committed to continuing education, attending many seminars and courses over the years. In 1999, she studied the post-graduate surgery course, going to Melbourne twice for the weekend workshops. Later, she learnt ultrasound techniques and visited Brisbane for the echocardiography course.
Other interests include tramping, visiting friends and family and reading. Sue is in the volunteer pool of Girl Guide Leaders, having qualified as a Leader when 22. She is a Bushcraft Instructor with Outdoor Trainers NZ and belongs to two tramping clubs.
Alison has been a vet nurse for many years and has spent the last 3.5 years of that at Swanson Road Vets. She has just recently taken on the position of Practice Manager where she is looking forward to the new challenges ahead.
Alison has a passion for surgical and medical nursing.
Outside of work Alison loves running. She enters fun runs when she can, along with raising 2 daughters and caring for her 2 fur babies, Petey and Vader
Charlotte graduated from Vet Nurse Plus in 2017 and has been working for Swanson Road Vets ever since.
She has a passion for surgical nursing, especially orthopedics. Charlotte enjoys mentoring the junior nurses.
Outside of work Charlotte enjoys going to the gym, and spending time with her friends and family (boyfriend included). Charlotte has one cat who she rescued and now adores.
Shruti graduated in vet nursing from Unitec in 2016 and has been practicing as a nurse ever since. In addition, Shruti completed a certificate in canine behaviour and training, and continues to pursue studies in animal management and welfare.
In her time as a nurse, Shruti has gained the most experience in post-operative care and client management. She loves working with both domestic and exotic animals.
In the future, Shruti hopes to apply her nursing skills to working with wild animals in countries around the world. She has a long-standing passion for rescuing animals, especially those with special needs or who have been abandoned - from dogs and cats, to blind chickens and one-legged ducks.
She is currently host and carer to over fourteen of her beautiful, precious, and unique "fur-babies"
Gemma started with Swanson Road Vets in 2020. She graduated her diploma of veterinary nursing in 2017 and has recently completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing while working.
Her interest of study is obesity and weight management in companion animals.
Gemma also looks after peoples animals in their homes while they go away on holiday through a pet-sitting service called pawshake.co.nz.
Outside of work Gemma enjoys keeping aquarium fish and is quite knowledgable on fish care.
Magdalena (Meg/Maggie for short), is originally from Poland, where she graduated.
Her main interests include ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. Her passion is to continue volunteering for veterinary projects all over the world.
Outside of work she spends her free time engaging in outdoor sports activities, socialising, and learning new skills such as floristry.
Maree has worked in Veterinary circles for most of her working life.
Her first three years as a Veterinary nurse in NSW Australia, at a clinic that dealt with both small and large animals plus the occasional wildlife animal.
After moving to New Zealand, Maree worked part and full time in small animal Clinic's around Auckland for another 7 years.
After deciding on a change of pace, Maree joined Auckland Gribbles Veterinary laboratory where she worked administration and reception for 20 years before joining Swanson Road Vets.
Maree has spent the last two years in Australia enjoying time with family and her twin grandaughters and has only recently returned to NZ with Cosmo her 12 year old dog.
